- 12 Tablespoons Warm Butter
- 6 Strips Bacon
Procedure:
- Combine the Milk and Sugar in a bowl until well mixed.
- Add in the Yeast and Egg and set aside for at least 5 minutes.
- In a mixer on its slowest setting, combine Flour and Salt.
- Add in the wet ingredients slowly and let it combine completely.
- Throw in 8 Tablespoons of the butter, one at a time.
- Replace the paddle of the mixer with the dough hook and let mix for about 6 minutes.
- If a ball has not formed, add in Flour 1 Tablespoon at a time until a ball forms.
- Kneed the dough by hand for a minute.
- Cover and let sit for 45 minutes.
- Crisp the Bacon in a pan over medium heat for about 12 minutes.
- Remove and chop into small pieces.
- Punch down dough and let sit for another 5 minutes.
- Press the dough to create a pocket for the Bacon.
- Kneed the Bacon into the dough until evenly distributed (About 4 minutes)
- Shape the dough into a log and cut in 24 pennies.
- Smash the Pennies if you are making buns. I am.
- Slather the rest of the Butter on a baking sheet and nestle the pennies into the Butter
- Optionally melt Butter over the tops of the Biscuits.
- Let rise for another 45 minutes.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 20-22 minutes until golden brown.
- You're Done.
I used this recipe to make fun buns for Bacon Cheeseburgers, but they go best with soups and breakfast. Hope you enjoy!
